just a glimpse of the incredible people i photographed today – the brilliantly hilarious writer mary t. mccarthy had me laughing long after our super-fun session, and the skilled art conservator morgan boyd zinsmeister left me in awe after a tour of the national archives document conservation laboratory and a sneak peek of his current work – amazing!

i *loved* meeting up with meghan vince a few weeks ago in baltimore for a very fun lifestyle session! we started in federal hill and worked our way across town to fells point, just in time to catch the sun setting on the pier. love that golden light! meghan was so great to photograph – her energy + excitement were amazing, especially since she was surrounded by everything she loves most! i captured some quick headshots for her new photography business { meghan lynn photography } and then photographed her + her boyfriend jim and their two awesome dogs, zoey + izzy! big thanks to meghan + jim for sharing their evening and their love with me!

last week i did a quick headshot session for my good friend warren hemenway, a very talented actor based in NY. i’m really happy with the way they turned out – warren has such a great energy and i think it shines through in the photographs. enjoy!

jennifer tress is fabulous.

and while there are many other words that describe jen – funny, sassy, talented, expressive, gorgeous, smart – the first word that comes to mind is always fabulous. i was so thrilled when she asked me to do a session for her to commemorate the work of her first book. she forwarded me the first few chapters and i *love* it – funny, poignant memoirs that made me laugh out loud and totally fall in love with her. as a result, our session was nothing short of absolutely fabulous and incredibly fun. we hit the streets of chinatown for a spontaneous lifestyle-type headshot session and got the most amazing images! and since jen is *fabulous* the shots are so fun, so full of her expressive personality, and even include a few strangers who wanted some camera time with this soon to be *very famous* author. stay tuned for info on her forthcoming collection of short stories! enjoy!

meet sean o’hare. sean is an enthusiastic public speaker, an adventurous entrepreneur, a savvy business man, and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. everytime i see him we end up talking for hours and i was thrilled to do some quick headshots for him last week! enjoy.

once again i had the pleasure of photographing the actor jason l brandt – this time on the sunny streets of los angeles. we first met on a snowy afternoon at the sundance film festival earlier this year…i learned that actors are so expressive that one shoot could bring about so many different looks, so many different aspects of his personality.

i really enjoy portrait sessions like this…i relish the opportunity to work closely with people and learn about them. it’s an incredible experience to try and figure out who they are and then capture that in the photos.

jason has so many different looks, and i really think i was able to capture so much of his personality in the photos, particularly these moody shots from the end of the day, late in the afternoon…

as the photo road trip continued north from the wilds of joshua tree into bustling los angeles the focus of the photography also changed…i spent the afternoon in west hollywood photographing the stunning pamela carey for goldenhead. great model, great light, and canon’s fantastic 85 1.2…

yay for baby evan and his super cool parents rachel + andy! i had the best time visiting with this new family on friday, for my very first newborn portrait/lifestyle session! evan is eight weeks old and so adorable! he has the most amazing eyes and a very expressive little face! when i arrived he was just waking up (he sleeps A LOT!) and rachel + andy stood over his crib and rachel sang to him as he woke up…i loved it! the three of them have such a great bond and make a fantastic family…i can’t wait to photograph them again very soon!

i had the privilege of meeting sharon sellers, a phenomenal woman and passionate tennis player, this week. i photographed sharon at practice for the national rehabilitation hospital, as she recently had surgery on her right shoulder and is, as evident from the photos, a wonderful example of the great work done at the hospital! i really enjoyed meeting and photographing sharon, and after watching the girls at practice i’m thinking maybe it’s time to break out my (fabulous, never-been-used) tennis racquet…
