marc + aniko: married!

a family affair.

marc + aniko are married! they had a wonderfully intimate ceremony at the marriott world center in orlando, florida.

late in the afternoon, their closest family + friends gathered to witness the official joining of marc and aniko as husband and wife. as the music played softly, aniko began her procession along the palm-lined path toward the ceremony. guests rose in her honor and her husband-to-be strode down the aisle to meet her. within moments, their adorable and amazing 3-year-old son joined them, placing his little hand in theirs, making their way together, as a family, to the front.

this was my first experience combining my love of wedding photography with my incredible love for my family. marc is my mother’s youngest brother, a fun uncle who was more like an older brother growing up. i loved him for his silliness and spontaneity when we were younger; today i admire him for the strength and generosity of his heart – visible through his unfaltering devotion as a son, and his never-ending patience and love as a father and a husband.

the look on marc’s face was pure elation as he spoke his vows to aniko, who met his eyes with admiration and love. paul stood fast at his mothers’ side, gazing out before him as if lost in profound thought. just before it was time, he raised the rings high above his head as if to signal his readiness…

marc and aniko met years ago, and have brought each other incredible happiness and fulfillment. this wedding was a true celebration of their love and the culmination of their years of devotion to each other and to their family. this family is very close and loves nothing more than time spent together, laughing, reminiscing, and creating new memories. this weekend was no exception.

the officiant proudly proclaimed them man and wife, then the kiss! and the applause! and the chaos of formals with nearly as many small children as adults in attendance! a brief stroll as a married couple through the gardens of the resort, and then up to the presidential suite for a champagne toast. the 30 or so guests enjoyed a beautiful evening of delicious food, great company, all in the presence of true love. as the night drew to a close, everyone gathered on the balcony to watch the fireworks from disney, clearly visible on the horizon, and to congratulate marc + aniko, wishing them all the best.

my wish for marc and ani is that they may know and cherish all the beauty and satisfaction that a life of love will bring to them, now and throughout their lives. i know that together their joys and achievements will feel more profound, and their difficulties and sorrow will be easier to bear, and their lives will be infinitely richer. i am so happy for them, and i love them both very much.

to be able to capture these images, these memories, means so much to me. photographing the people i love was and is an incredible experience – nothing could be more perfect. i adore every person in the following photos and i am so thankful for their place in my life and in my heart.
